The Crystal Carrington Show
Vampy, campy and uber glamorous; she eats sequins for breakfast.
In the highest of heels Crystal Carrington leapt into the drag show circuit five years ago, after hosting numerous radio "agony aunt" talk shows with her popular "Crystal's Ball" slots on Jacaranda and 5fm.
Her present repertoire includes musical classics from divas such as Bette Midler, Eartha Kitt and Shirley Bassey. The added comedy is faultless, and her colourful and animated demeanour makes her one of the classiest and funniest female impersonators in the country.
And for one night only, Friday September 3, 2010, Ms Carrington will be appearing in her own uniquely gaudy cabaret one-woman-show at Salsa Restaurant in Illovo, Sandton.
Situated at 198 Oxford Road next to the Thrupps Centre, SALSA has become a popular show venue for unique artists and their clientele. Aside from the fantastic food and ambience, there are to be some evenings where "absolute jol" is the catch phrase.
"We have had many guests asking for a really good, world-class drag show, and now with the delightfully cruisy Crystal in town we will be presenting just that." says owners Janine and Maura. It will be sophisticated, with just the right dose of adult humor. Crystal is sharp, witty and highly entertaining in her one woman show. If you love music you will love this show.
Expect a two course menu to match the antics of the performance.
