Tim Truluck Ward Councillor 117 writes
As city councillors who are actively involved with the members of the Rosebank Police Precinct, we would like to express our heartfelt regret and shock at the tragic shooting of Captain Neelavathi Naidu and Lieutenant-Colonel Thandi Mkhize that occurred on Monday 1 August.
We would like to extend our condolences to the families and we hope that Lieutenant-Colonel Mkhize makes a full recovery from her injuries. Our thoughts are also with their colleagues, who, we are sure, are shocked and distressed after the traumatic incident.
In light of the number of policemen and women who have fallen this year, we would encourage residents and other community members to support the Police Widows and Orphans Fund, SMS a donation to 38738 (R10 per sms), or EFT ABSA cheque number 030 000 080 / Branch number 632005).
