Sandton SAPS crime briefs.

Warning
With the schools opened, parents are warned to be alert while dropping off their children at schools. Numerous reports were received last year, and have been reported again now that schools are open, that the jamming device was used to gain access to vehicles and steal, while parents were dropping off their children. This specifically takes place at primary schools, as parents walk with the young children into the school and the suspects then have an opportunity to get into motor vehicles.

Armed robbery
Bryanston: On Thursday January 26, 2012, at approximately 8pm, a business robbery took place in Ballyclare Drive. The victim was inside the office when he was approached by an unknown male, and pointed with a firearm. Victim was forced to lie down, and a second suspect entered. The victim was robbed of his cell phone and jewellery, suspects fled with computers, laptop and TV. Suspects were seen driving a silver VW polo.

Burglary
Bryanston: During the early morning hours of Wednesday January 25, 2012, a residence was broken into in Mount Street. Victim went to sleep, leaving a window open. When he woke up in the morning he found that a laptop had been stolen.

Paulshof: During the night of Monday January 22, 2012, a residence was broken into in Maluti Street. Victim went to sleep with everything in order. When he woke up, he found that a window had been forced open, and a computer, laptop and TV was stolen.

Smash and grab
Smash and grab incidence was reported this week, at the following intersection:
11.55pm: Main and Robin, Bryanston

Jamming device
3pm and 4.45pm: Benmore and Grayston, Benmore
7.20am and 7.35am: Maine and Sloane, Bryanston
4.30pm: Rivonia and Naivasha, Sunninghill
11am and 5.35pm: Waterfall Crescent, Woodmead Mart
11am and 9pm: West Street, Sandown

SUSPICIOUS MOTOR VEHICLE: White bakkie with two suspects.
