The Adoption Corner
'Lucky' was found wandering the streets of Malvern yesterday, January 24, 2012 when a concerned resident called Sandton SPCA to rescue him.
He was badly neglected and obviously never been groomed, he was in a terrible state when they found him.
Husky Rescue South Africa (HRSA) is a non-profit, no-kill organisation run by a small group of people who share a passion for this beautiful yet constantly misunderstood breed - the Siberian Husky.
Siberian huskies are often chosen as a family pet based on their gorgeous blue eyes and fluffy coats. Many new owners know very little about this breed and as the puppy grows into an adolescent dog, owners are unable to understand and cope with their very specific requirements.
Shiloh has been successfully re-homed!
Shiloh a pure bred, registered, two year old golden retriever looking for his forever home. He has a stunning, stunning nature. He is a fantastic children's companion, very loveable and gentle. Shiloh is a real gem of a family dog and cat friendly too.
An abandoned or lost young mommy cat and her baby are looking for a good home. Mommy has been spayed and vaccinated and is approximately one year old. Her kitten is approximately eight weeks old. Mother is very affectionate and kitten very playful.
Is anyone looking for an Adorable, friendly, chilled, Boerbull of 5 years? His name is blue and he loves children, my sister used to have a school so the kids loved playing with him. He is an excellent security/watch dog.
Brownie is a very unique and special dog who arrived at the SPCA as a stray. Brownie has spunky personality and is full of life; however some people ignore her because of her odd looks. No one quite knows what kind of cross breed she is made up of. In fact when I first saw her I thought she was a he!
Sandton SPCA is appealing to the public to come and adopt one of our approximately 50 adult cats from our shelter. In recent weeks Sandton SPCA has rescued cats from a house in Houghton and this week has come to the aid of cats from a cattery which burnt down in Linbro Park.
Fee Bee was handed into the Sandton SPCA by her owner Philiph, who is a resident of Alexandra Township. Like many dogs which are kept as pets in this area, Fee Bee’s owner could not afford to take care of her.
Since Toyota came out with TV adverts featuring Buddy, the boxer there has been a recent surge in the breed’s popularity. Currently Sandton SPCA is home to two female boxers Jessie and Kayla. They came in separately from different families but the reasons for giving them up were the same. Jessie – 10 months and Kayla (18 months) had become too much to handle. Not enough time and too little space to take care of them.
